Der Grund für ihren neuen Look war allerdings nicht der Wunsch nach einer Typ-Veränderung. Vielmehr spendete sie ihren abgeschnittenen Zopf an eine wohltätige Organisation, die Perücken für Kinder herstellt, die aufgrund von Erkrankungen ihre Haare verloren haben.

Auch privat hat sich bei Sara Ramirez einiges verändert. Nicht nur, dass sie verstärkt wohltätig aktiv ist, sie outete sich auch während einer Wohltätigkeitsveranstaltung im Oktober 2016 als bisexuell und postete die Rede danach auf Instagram.
